SoNo Trading Co Comes to Gilt Taste

Our favorite up-and-coming artisan mustard brand gets the Gilt treatment
SoNo Trading Co Comes to Gilt Taste

When we first checked in with SoNo Trading Co. back at the start of July, co-founders Zach Negin and James Magnatta were just two dreamers on the verge of taking their mustard-making business from the farmer’s markets of San Diego to the masses. Three months and a highly successful Kickstarter campaign later, they’ve managed to do exactly that, with a growing fan base and two flavors of mustard sold at gourmet and butcher shops throughout Southern California. Now, through online gourmet site Gilt Taste, SoNo is taking its brand nationwide.

“With family mustard recipes as their starting point, Zach Negin and James Magnatta have revolutionized mustard with the addition of ingredients like habanero peppers and champagne vinegar,” reads the product description on the Gilt Taste site, which has officially begun selling sets of SoNo Trading Co.’s Champagne Garlic and Hong Kong Habanero mustards for $16.95. “The bright champagne garlic mustard is a great match for rich, unctuous sausages and the spicy habanero mustard makes a lovely marinade slicked on a filet of fish.”

That sounds tasty already and it’s just getting started – on Gilt, Negin also recommends mixing the habanero mustard honey and soy sauce for a tasty stir fry and brushing chicken with the garlic mustard for a grilling glaze (we can attest to this being a seriously solid plan).

Even better still is the shipping deal being offered to celebrate SoNo’s first week on the Gilt Taste market. From now until Tuesday, September 6, Gilt Taste is offering the mustard set for a reduced shipping rate of only 5 cents. In other words: if you want to get your hands on The Mustard, now’s the time to do it. Check out the site for full details and see what all the fuss is about for yourself
