Does your company know how to package a product? Have you been making impressive leaps and bounds in the arena of sustainable packaging, whether it’s lightweight designs that use less plastic or new compostable plant-based materials? Did you launch a new design in the past year that you want the world to know about? If so, you might want to consider entering your cutting edge designs in the 24th Annual DuPont Awards for Packaging Innovation.
Designers, manufacturers, and anyone else closely associated with packaging innovations can enter the contest up until the deadline of February 24, 2012. From there an international panel, headed up by PTIS Vice President Brian Wagner, will judge entries and announce winners in May. There is no entry fee, and the packaging you enter does not have to contain DuPont materials. All they want to see are commercially available packaging designs that are setting new standards in the fields of innovation, sustainability, and waste reduction.

“Needs for improved sustainability and cost/waste reduction are the key drivers for packaging innovation today,” said Shanna Moore, Global Director of Sustainability, DuPont Packaging, in a statement to the press. “We look forward to entries that demonstrate excellence in addressing these issues. In order to share learnings about how companies are innovating in response to these needs, we will once again conduct a global online event featuring our winners, who also will be honored in a celebration event with senior DuPont executives.”
