Whether you’re a wine novice or an expert, it’s always great to get a discussion started on favorite wines and good places to get them. Wine Enthusiast is exactly what it sounds like, a magazine for people who are enthusiastic about just such a discussion. For the second year running, it’s giving those people something to talk about with a list of its 100 Best Wine Restaurants.
Chosen by Wine Enthusiast’s editors, the magazine gathers up a hundred restaurants throughout the United States, chosen according to the magazine for their innovative wine menus, along with other markers like exceptional hospitality and bottle service. Rather than ranking each restaurant on a scale of 1-100, a nearly impossible task with so many variables, the restaurants are divided by region and open to interpretation – all the better for wine enthusiasts at home to discuss which restaurants on the list are their personal favorites, as well as which restaurants should be there but aren’t.

“We are thrilled to name our second list of 100 amazing restaurants chosen from Wine Enthusiast’s editorial perspective for our readers,” stated Editor & Publisher of Wine Enthusiast Adam Strum in a press release preceding the list. “We feel that wine is as important as the food it is paired with in restaurant service, and we’re delighted to give recognition to those establishments who are achieving great heights with this wonderful marriage of superb cuisine and the perfect bottle. It is with tremendous pride and pleasure that we honor these 100 restaurants with this esteemed award.”
Other features in that month’s Wine Enthusiast include Pig Roasts (a “pet project of top chefs across the country”), large format bottles, and the best wines to pair with burgers because, as we well know, burgers are so hot right now.
