If you’re planning on attending the eighth annual San Diego Bay Wine and Food Festival (November 16-20), look forward to seeing stars. A full list has just been released, naming the celebrity chefs who will be headlining the event through luncheons and culinary demonstrations, and it’s looking like this year is shaping up to be a good one.
The event is currently featuring fifty celebrity chefs, renowned in both local culinary circles and across the country. Some local favorites include Chef Brian Malarkey (Executive Chef at Searsucker and Burlap, and who could forget Top Chef Season 3), Sam Zien (that’s Sam the Cooking Guy to you and me), Trey Foshee (Executive Chef at Georges at the Cove), Noriyoshi Teruya (Head Sushi Chef at Nobu San Diego), and Deborah Scott (Executive Chef at Indigo Grill, Kemo Sabe, and Island Prime). Other famous names include Gale Gand of TRU, Billy Strynkowski of Cooking Light Magazine, and a whole lot more.

But it’s not like these big names will just be standing around. Look forward to a number of events at and around the festival for your enjoyment, led by some of these top names. Chef Scott, along with Island Prime Chef de Cuisine Mike Suttles and Society Café Encore Executive Chef Kim Canteenwalla, will be hosting a five-course dinner as part of the Tastemaker Dinner Series. Chef Malarkey will be teaming up with a host of Top Chef all-stars for a cooking class culminating in a wine-paired tasting menu. And that’s all just for starters.
