When it comes to getting people interested in a new cause or organization, one of the best ways to do it is with a lot of delicious food all in one place. On Friday, June 22, The Positive Plate – a non-profit program promoting sustainability in the restaurant industry – launches its San Diego chapter with food event A Taste of Summer at Point Loma’s Liberty Station, and it’s clearly taking full advantage of the city’s rich culinary scene to make sure that it’s a taste to remember. Just recently the event released its menu for the night, and it’s pretty exciting.
The menu represents a good cross-section of San Diego, featuring restaurants from La Jolla to Little Italy. One thing many of them have in common is a dedication to sustainable practices, whether it’s being a Green Certified Restaurant or building menus around local seasonal ingredients.
